ScanComb is built and backed by Mr.D Apps. The product grew from years of cloud security, AWS architecture, and software engineering work: security and compliance are provable in principle but often difficult to prove in practice. The evidence exists, but it is scattered across accounts, configurations, and code. ScanComb applies a better default: read-only access, continuous evaluation, and evidence collected automatically instead of reconstructed under deadline pressure.
Where the name comes from
ScanComb is built on a single image — a honeycomb that doubles as a scan grid. The comb is the hive, home to our open-source tools, SentryHive and CostHive. The scan is what the platform does: reading your cloud and your infrastructure-as-code cell by cell, and checking each one against the frameworks that matter. That's also where Compscan gets its name — compliance scanning, the engine at the center of the comb.
Each tool is one hexagon; Compscan is the full grid; ScanComb is the whole hive. One family, one idea: make security and compliance something you can actually see and prove — not just assert.
Mr.D Apps also supports two open-source AWS orchestration tools, SentryHive and CostHive — the free, Tier-1 side of the same ScanComb family as Compscan.
